AMM History

​​Austin Marathi Mandal (AMM) is a non-profit established almost three decades ago and continues to strive and expand its programs within a diverse Austin community. There are about 300+ families in Marathi community in Austin area who are highly educated and successful in various business and professional spheres. They have largely originated from the state of Maharashtra in India within South Asia region. AMM is inclusive and encourages anyone wanting to experience the culture to join.
AMM is committed to fostering cultural, charitable, educational and literary activities by bringing together the Indian American community as members and also anyone interested to experience this rich heritage by visiting events as a non-member. The member base exceeds 250+ families and its communication reaches over 1050 active email accounts. Historically, events organized by AMM attracts average of 400 attendees for variety of events and is rapidly expanding every year.

Mission

​Our mission is to organize cultural events for the Indian American 'Marathi' speaking community, foster community engagement either by volunteer activities or supporting like-minded social organizations, fundraising to promote our culture and traditions in Austin.
Our goal is to strengthen Maharashtrian/Indian cultural roots among the next generation of Marathi community.

What we do

AMM’s yearly activities typically consist of 6-7 events including cultural programs, traditional arts and music concerts and lots of fun activities for all ages. In addition, AMM publishes an annual magazine called ‘Snehadeep’ during November-December time-frame each year.
AMM also hosts a Sunday school to teach Marathi language, which is attended by about 125+ students across 3 branches. 
We preserve our rich cultural heritage for current and future generation Indian Americans and help share with anyone willing to experience the same.

We have created a well-defined sponsorship structure to help you understand the Sponsorship Tiers (offerings), associated Sponsor benefits and the community outreach you will receive through the AMM platform.
